Big end of the week for legislation Friday at the state capitol one important bill failing and another living to see another day. A bill that would have attempted to bring down workers compensation premiums and make them more competitive with other states across the country failed in the house minerals committee by a score of 3 to 6 while in the senate an hour’s long debate on parental involvement in students education of sexual orientation and gender identity. That bill requiring schools to inform parents of these discussions and trainings ahead of time passed out of the senate education committee by a vote of 4 to 1.
