Recovery Operation For Aircraft Crash

A private plane crash happened near the Alcova reservoir on Tuesday. 

The Natrona County sheriff’s office says crews recovered the body of the pilot, who was the only person on board the plane.

The terrain and the location of the aircraft -which went down southeast of the reservoir around 4:45 pm made the search and rescue effort challenging.

Extra crews and specialty equipment were needed, the search took nearly three hours.

Recovery efforts continue. The sheriff’s office says drivers who normally travel on Kortes road, may need to find alternate routes.
