City Of Cheyenne Seeking Youth Mentors
The City of Vheyenne is seeking some adults interested in mentoring kids ages 6 to 17. The Cheyenne Youth Alternatives Department has two programs for adults looking to spend some time mentoring the youth of Cheyenne. One is for foster grandparents for ages 55 and over and the other is for adults of any age looking to work with at risk kids. It’s a commitment that Devyan Paiz says can foster a relationship for a lifetime.
“With mentoring some of these relationships last into adulthood, like these friendships and these mentorships can last a lifetime, which I think is a really important factor in that as well. And not only that, but volunteering and mentoring. If you’re feeling down doing something selfless for someone else is always going to make you feel better.”
